- 1/2 cup minced garlic
- 1/2 cup Thai chili pepper
- 1 pack of bean sprouts 500g
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin powder
- 1 cup chopped green onions
- 2 tbsp cooking oil
Wash the bean sprouts thoroughly and try to drain off excess water as much as possible. This helps prevent them from releasing water while stir-frying.
Heat oil in a pan and sauté minced garlic and Thai chili pepper until fragrant. If using a wok, it is ideal to preheat it without the oil. When the wok is hot, add oil and spread it throughout the edges of the wok.
Add bean sprouts and stir-fry until softened. Stir-fry over high heat. This is also the step where you can add extra vegetables or longer-cooking ingredients, if applicable. Avoid overcrowding the wok to allow all the ingredients to cook evenly. Moreover, overcrowding the wok can lead to steam and create excess moisture, which can make the ingredients soggy and lose their crispness.
Season with light soy sauce, salt, sugar, and optionally, chicken bouillon powder and cumin powder.
Add chopped green onions and stir-fry for an additional 1 minute.
Transfer to a serving plate and serve. Top with more garnishes if you prefer.
