Salt And Pepper Potatoes

No chopping, dipping, or marinating is needed. Salt and pepper potato is a no-fuss recipe that only requires steaming and sautéeing the potatoes with seasonings.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 g small potatoes
  • Oil adjust the amount according to the amount of potatoes
  • 10 g green onions
  • 10 g or more of salt and pepper seasoning
  • 10 g white sesame seeds

Instructions
 

  • Wash the potatoes to remove dirt and debris.
  • Prepare your steaming equipment and steam the potatoes after washing them.
  • Steam the potatoes for 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes, check if the potatoes are cooked by poking chopsticks or a fork into the potatoes. If you can pierce through the potatoes with ease, then your potatoes are cooked.
  • Remove the potatoes from the steamer and allow them to cool.
  • When it is comfortable to touch, peel off the skin.
  • Then, prepare a pan with oil and heat it up. The oil should be hot before putting the potatoes. If the oil is not hot enough, the potatoes will stick to the pan and absorb the oil.
  • Once the oil is hot, gently stir-fry the potatoes over medium heat until fragrant and golden brown. Allow one side of the potato to cook until lightly brown before turning on the other side. Careful not to overmix or turn too much, or the potatoes might crumble from the stirring. You want to maintain its shape and color. Remember, the potatoes are soft and already cooked because of the steaming step. Stir-frying is only needed to give you that nice crisp appearance and enhance the flavor.
  • Next, sprinkle salt and pepper seasoning on all sides of the potatoes. You can sprinkle as much as you want.
  • Then, add white sesame seeds and chopped green onions.
  • Mix the seasonings well until the potatoes are evenly coated. As a result, itt should have a slightly charred finish.
