French Toast with Caramelized Apples

Ingredients
  

FRENCH TOAST

  • 6 slices bread
  • 2 eggs
  • 125 ml milk
  • 1 tbsp sugar/honey
  • 1 tsp cinnamon powder
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • honey/maple syrup for topping

CARAMELIZED APPLES

  • 1 apple thin wedges
  • 2 tbsp salted butter
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinammon powder

Instructions
 

FRENCH TOAST

  • In a large bowl, combine eggs, milk, sugar/honey, cinnamon powder, vanilla extract and salt. Dip bread slices one by one into egg mixture until well soaked.
  • Heat a frypan over medium heat, then add salted butter. Once butter has melted, fry bread slices on both sides till golden brown. Serve with honey or maple syrup.

CARAMELIZED APPLES

  • Heat another frypan over medium heat, then add butter and allow it to melt. Once butter has melted, add sugar and allow it to dissolve.
  • Add apple wedges and fry on both sides until tender and caramelized. This should take around 5-10 minutes. You can add some water if the sugar mixture gets too dry. Serve caramelized apples over french toast.
