
In a pot, heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat. Add lemongrass, ginger slices and garlic cloves and stir fry for a while until fragrant. Remove ingredients from pot.
Add in rice, water and turmeric powder. Return the lemongrass, ginger slices and garlic cloves to the pot. Cover the pot and bring water to a boil over medium-high heat.
Reduce to low heat once water has boiled. Let rice cook until all the water has been absorbed and rice is soft.
Turn off the heat, and fluff rice with a fork before serving.
